Albert Delamour
Looking for Richard series
Since my childhood in France, American West was part of Albert Delamour's dreams, especially the work of Edward S.Curtis, whom inspired "American dream". Since, he visited a lot of places in NM, making me more and more attracted by the magic of these landscapes.
Looking for Richard series is an allegory about the artist being loneliness in the quest of its work/life. Taken from Richard Prince’s painting (the king of appropriation art), the cow-boy represent an idealized figure of American masculinity. It has been suggested that this work raise the question of what is real, what is a real cow-boy and what makes it so.
